Dr. Girdany has over 25 years of professional experience in joint replacement procedures and arthroscopic surgery. Most recently, he was in practice at UPMC Bedford Orthopedics. He has also served as a partner with Orthopedic Surgery Associates of Latrobe and East Suburban Orthopedic Associates of Monroeville.
Dr. Girdany graduated from Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed an internship/residency in general surgery at York Hospital and his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Girdany is board certified in orthopedic surgery.
He formerly served as the Chief of the Division of Orthopedic Surgery and Chairman of the Operating Room Committee at the Forbes Regional Hospital. In addition, Dr. Girdany is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Pennsylvania Orthopedic Society.
Dr. Sobolewski completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Millcreek Hospital, Erie, Pennsylvania. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery. In addition to general orthopedics, Dr. Sobolewski's special interests include total joint replacement of the shoulder, hip and knee, sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery as well as fracture care. Dr. Michael Sobolewski joined Somerset Orthopedics in July of 2013. Dr. Sobolewski is the Chief of Surgery at Somerset Hospital.
Dr. Michael Sobolewski is an accomplished presenter and writer, earning the 2011 Golden Quill award for exceptional research presented by the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association. While in Erie, PA he helped to provide orthopedic care and sports medicine coverage in conjunction with LECOM Sports Medicine for the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League, the Erie BayHawks of the NBA Development League and NCAA Division I Mercyhurst Men's and Women's Ice Hockey teams. In addition, Sobolewski is a member of the following professional societies:
